Changing colors question

I am working on a scarf that has 2 stripes. The pattern says to knit 22 rows of one color then switch to the next. When I switch to the other color, do I count that as one of the 22 rows of that color?

If you mean knit 22 rows of color A, then knit 22 of color B, the color switch row does count as the first row of color B.

Is that what you mean?
