“like using pretzels to clean our teeth”! That’s great!
I was told at my pet food store by a wonderful woman full of so much knowledge about cat food… that yes that’s a misconception people have, thinking dry food will ‘clean’ their teeth. Not true.
I’ve bought that cat toothpaste stuff and a little brush but ha, what a joke to try that. My vet just sort of snaps off any plaque on my cat’s teeth with his fingernail, they actually let him.
I bought that packaged raw food (cat food) too, they wouldn’t touch it.
Marie… now that you mention it, my girl cat (14 years old) has been getting away with eating too much dry food (I indulge her coz she’s older) and she’s soooo thirsty… I think I’ll cut way back on that today. Thanks. !
Yea, I have too agree…the dry cat food thing does not keep my one cat (Baby Phat) teeth clean at all—the other cat (Lily ) who is younger is fine…I ONLY FEED DRY and for treats (morning or after nail clipping) I give em deli turkey…They have never had “wet”…but the older one loves: Tomatoes, black olives, veggie soup and most favorite yogurt!!! So he gets a little bit of “table” stuff too during the week:cool:
