My pattern says: inc 1 st at each end of foll 8th row till 66 sts.
Cont in pattern till sleeve measures 26cms.
I have done this 3 times and can only get to 62 stitches but the sleeve is well longer than 26cms. I’m not sure what to do? I have tried increasing every row but this looks really weird.
Welcome to the forum!
What is the name of your pattern and designer?
Are you making 2 increases every 8th row, one at the beginning of the row and one at the end of row? If that’s not the problem you may need to increase every 4th (4,8,12,16,20 etc.) row or even every other row rather than every 8th (8,16,24,30, etc).
Yes I am increasing at each end of each 8th row.
The pattern is rowan textured cardigan for children.
I have now started again and increasing each end of each 6th row and this seems to be working.
Glad that you’re back on track. It’s probably as GG suggested, your row gauge is a bit off the pattern gauge. As long as you get stitch gauge, row gauge doesn’t usually matter. And then there are sleeve increases or raglans or sideways knits and who knows what else where row gauge is important.
It a very sweet little cardigan.
