casting on at the end of a round

I am on row 27. My pattern says to cast on 9 stitches at the end of the row and then join to knit in the round. Help!

I can join to knit in the round but the pattern said to place a marker to mark beginning of the round 2 stitches before casting on 9. Round 1 is knit. How do I get back to the marker in order to knit the 9 new stitches?

Welcome!
Before casting on the 9 new sts, place a marker. Cast on 9sts, join to knit in the round and continue knitting until you get back to the marker. Proceed with round 2 which will begin with the 9 sts and then continue knitting around.
