From project to project - I forget. Is there a VIDEO link to casting on extra stitches at the beginning of both a knit and purl row? Reading instructions don’t do it for me. Sadly, I must see (.) (.) it!

If it’s more than an increase of 1 st, you need to look at the cast on methods like knitted or cable, found here - http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/basic_techniques/index.php
I need to add 5 stitches at the beginning of every row for 4 rows. I don’t think either of these addresses my issue.???

The ones listed by suzeeq do. Those are 2 cast on methods that you can do at the beginning or end of a row. Hope this helps.

if you scroll aobut halfway down the page in the link provided by suzeeq, you will see Cable Cast-on and knitted cast-on. these are two that can cast-on at the beginning of a row.
