Can I undo ribbing then re-knit it backwards?

I have just finished the front left piece of the dreaded ballet wrap top and my stocking stitch is the perfect guage. But I feel that the ribbing is a little tight it is in 100% cotton so I will probably wash and block it first anyway but if that doesn’t help is it possible to undo just the rib which was the beginning and re-knit it backwards? if so could somebody give me an idiots guide on how to do it please.

I had 5cms of k1,p1 then an increase row before the stocking stitch.

Many thanks

You can do that, but I don’t know how easy it is. You’ll need to find a destination row to unravel to. Check here under fixing mistakes and you’ll see how to do it.
