Hi!
I’m making Silver’s Palindrome in 100% sport weight alpaca yarn.
Since it is an 8st cable, does anybody have any tips for cabling slightly hairy alpaca stitches without a cable needle?
Thanks!

Do you have any double pointed needles? They work just as well as a cable needle as long as they aren’t too small (in diameter). There is a way to do cables without using a cable or double point, but I’ve never tried it.
I wouldn’t do an 8 stitch cable without a needle of some sort. I do 6 stitch cables, but not 8.
That’s what I was trying to find my way out of sigh
I’ve been cabling for now with a thick yarn needle (works just as well as a cable needle or dpn but better because it is shorter), but it is slow and I really wanted to do it without using a needle of any kind. Tried it couple of different ways, but moving 4 sts at a time is hard. But I read somewhere a while ago that someone knit Palindrome using no needle for cabling and I wondered if there was a way that I didn’t know about.
