Button Loops - how to

Can someone teach me how to knit button loops like the ones pictured here? I’ve tried to increase stitches when binding off but the loop ends up between two stitches and not over several stitches like those picture. Thanks in advance!

that is a chain crochet edge chain x (3 to 10) make a sc on edge, (or 2 or 3) repeat.
