Good Afternoon,
I am having difficulty understanding this pattern. I have completed the back piece and both sleeves but am having a hard time with the two fronts. I am currently working on the right front. I am at the shaping of armhole and neck;
Dec 1 st at armhole edge same as for back every other row 27 times; at the same time, then total length for both sides is 18.5", dec 1 st at neck edge every other row 8 times, then every 4th row 10 times, on every other row twice. Bind off remaining 2 sts.
The back decrease instructions are as follows: K3, k the 3rd st on the left-hand needle without slipping it off needle, k 1st and 2nd sts tog and sl all 3 sts off left-hand needle, work to last 6 sts. Sl next st onto a dpn and leave in front of work; k next 2 sts tog, k st from dpn, k last 3 sts.
I understand most of the armhole and neck decrease except for the last part. I am fine until; then every 4th row 10 times, on every other row twice.
This is a bulky sweater with raglan sleeves. So far the decreases for the back piece are understandable for me. As I am on the front piece and the above notes are the only decrease instructions for the armhole edge would I then just knit 2 tog after the ribbing at the neck edge to decrease? Also, I am assuming that instead of knitting as per the back piece decrease I would be purling as this is a purl row.
