Braided Scarf

Actually, I have sworn off of scarves, I have a stack of them already. But this no-knit braided scarf is just too pretty. No way can I justify the price, however well worth it the yarn might be… but it might be a good de-stashifying project if I can figure out how to make it. Could it be as simple as picking a bunch of yarn that looks great, tying a knot, and braiding it? There must be a trick to controlling all that yarn while braiding. Googling only brought up the same web site, has anyone seen another one with (hopefully) a pattern?

BTW, it IS a nice site, beautiful kits and very nice yarn.

Looks like it’s just braided to me. You could tie a temporary knot at the end of your sections and then untie them after you braided. Or maybe wrap the yarn around something the right size, knot the ends and then braid. It might be easier to get all the yarn the same length that way.

Looks like an ordinary braid to me too.

The old girl scout trick is to tie off smaller bundles of yarn or string and then tie those together. I would anchor the braiding on something sturdy. A door knob would work well. You could use some small rubber bands to hold your bunches of yarn together at the bottom so nothing is flying around. Easy peasie stuff
