Yes, I’m still alive! :teehee:
Good to know, Braden! What are you knitting now?
Hi Braden! :waving:
You must be busy with school this year.
Let us know how things are going.
Hi Sandy! School is fine, with all A’s and B’s, and English being my best subject and Biology being my worst. I haven’t had much time for knitting lately. My church got a new pastor, and I like him very much.
I’ll post more later, hope everyone is well!
:waving: Braden. I hope you are well. I’m glad to hear you like your new pastor How’s your little sister doing?
Sounds like you’re doing very well! Way to go!
My best subjects were always Math and English. Science wasn’t bad either…but I HATED History. I guess I just never had a good history teacher.
Ava’s doing very good, thanks for asking! And she’s just about old enough to get her first teeth. Another month, I think. (She’ll be 6 months)
Sandy-
I didn’t have really good elementary teachers. I’ve only had one bad history teacher, and that was in the 7th grade. All my other teachers have been really good. I’ve also had two of the best english teachers.
My brother and I had our eye exams on Tuesday. I’ve been nearsighted since the second grade, but lately have been having some trouble seeing close up. So, he told me to get a pair of +1.00 over the counter reading glasses to wear over my contact lenses, and also gave me some eye exercises to do so I wouldn’t become too dependant on the reading glasses. I also got some prescription glasses, which I think will have bifocals in them. Weird for someone my age, huh?
And my younger brother (who thought he was never going to have glasses) finally has to have them.
Hope everybody’s doing well!
Interesting about the glasses. I hope you adjust well to the changes in your prescription.
the bifocals now may help… I had bifocals when i was 14, now i’m just with the single lenses… hopefully you’ll be back to single lenses within a couple of years
Thanks Sandy!
This will be my first experience with bifocals, and I may not even have them; I told my eye doctor the glasses were going to be a “backup pair” in case I couldn’t wear my contacts. And, I don’t need the reading glasses all the time, just when I’m going to be reading or on the computer for more than 5 minutes. After that, things go out of focus.
Well, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? I’m really sorry to say I have done next to no knitting for the past few months. I have just been extremely busy with almost no free time. But now that things have settled down and gotten back into their normal routine I look forward to getting a lot of knitting and crocheting done.
We went back to school from a 2 week Christmas break last Monday. I got $420 for Christmas, $42 of which was given to my church, a new leather Bible cover, and really nice desk pen set. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
Some more interesting news- my aunt had her baby on the 1st. A boy named Jacob. But she’s angry that my grandmother and other aunt can’t babysit while she’s at work. They already babysit Ava, but my grandmother has Menier’s disease, so most of the time, my other aunt has to care for Ava alone. And, the new mother would have to drop the baby off at 6:30 a.m. and pick him up after 6:00 p.m. But she doesn’t seem to understand that it’s impossible.
This March 14th will be my 15th birthday, and my aunt and I are going down to our local driving license and I am getting my learner’s permit. Since I took Driver’s Education, I don’t have to take the written test to get it. I just have to show up with my Driver’s Ed. permit.
Hope everybody’s doing well!
15! How exciting to get your permit! Stay safe!
Hi Jan! I will stay safe - I have some really good drivers in my family. And some bad ones, but we won’t go there.
I don’t usually read the blogs (way too much reading to be done to keep up), but I was wondering where you’ve been! Haven’t seen any of your gorgeous handiwork in a while. Glad to hear you’re alive and kicking though!
Don’t apologize for living your life, my friend. Sometimes, we have to do what we have to do. Knitting is our reward for all that hard work. So, just do the best you can. Soon, you’ll have more time for fun things like knitting.
Well, I don’t anticipate much knitting in the future. Each semester we have to choose a book to read, and then we have to take a computer-test on it. Well, I chose As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner. And, anyone who has ever read Faulkner knows that you have to read the book twice to really get it. But, I’m a good way in and I like it. English is my best subject. Last semester we studied grammar; this semester we’re studying literature. We’re on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet now. I’m working hard to advance to Honor’s English II and completely bypass 10th grade english.
I haven’t been to bed before midnight since I got back to school; we’ve been having quizzes and homework in almost every class that I’ve had to study for. But, that’s life, and it’s very rewarding when I do well on a test or quiz.
Hope everyone’s doing well!
You’re saying the same thing I’m hearing from most of my teenage piano students. They each have HOURS of homework each night. Sometimes when I go to their house to teach their lesson, they look like they can hardly keep their eyes open. :pout:
Just do your best.
It’s sure good to hear from you Thanks for the update. How exciting getting your driver’s permit.
Wow, Ava’s sure getting big.
