Braden's Knitting for a Baby!

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

Yeah, it’s a shame more people my age don’t use correct grammar. Oh, look, now I sound like my English Teacher!
:teehee: That was actually Cate that said that, but I’ll take the credit for it!

Oops!

Okay, here are some pictures:

The Candle Flame Shawl I started last night:

The KnitPicks Heirloom Aran Pullover. This is the front, the back is finished.

I’m using Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky in Pewter for the shawl, and Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in Cloud for the sweater. Enoy!

Gorgeous!!! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Thank you! The shawl pattern is well written and really easy to follow, so is the Aran.

Nice work!!! :cheering: :cheering:

I may have to get that Knitpicks pattern.

You just might! Happy Easter!

I made a lot more progress on the shawl today than I thought I would. We had a huge lunch, and after that, we snoozed, and I knitted on the shawl. It is a really easy to memorize pattern, and I don’t even have to refer to the chart anymore. Since I was the only child/teenager there, we didn’t do any egg-hunt or anything like that. All in all, it was a pretty good day. Tonight, I’m going to sit on the couch with a good movie and knit all evening!

P.S. If you want to see pics, I’ll post them. I didn’t do anything on the Aran, so no need to post that, but I’ll show you the shawl.

ContiKnitter is my knitting idol. I have a son who is lots older than you–and I wish he was as focused. I’m stunned that someone your age has the discipline to do the stuff you’re doing. You’re work is amazing! Now I feel a little dorky because I was so excited about finishing a sock.

I’m sure you’ve mentioned it, but how’d you learn to do such advanced stuff?

Joe

 1. I am currently in junior high.

:passedout: You are a very mature young man! Also a fabulous knitter!! Do other members of your family knit?

Thanks a lot, Joe. I just saw a lot of things I wanted to know how to do, and I had the confidence to learn them, Jan, I’m the first one in my family to ever knit, I’ve never had a knitting lesson, and I’ve learned all that I know from books and websites. I learned to knit from a book, too. I did teach my aunt and grandmother to knit, though.

Okay, I did some stash organization, and I happend to take pictures. Here ya’ go:

4 hanks on KP WOTA bulky for the rest of the Candle Flame Shawl:

The 10 balls of Knit Picks WOTA for the rest of the Aran

6 balls of Knit Picks WOTA in Amber Heather for some sweater

Some leftover WOTA Bulky

Knit Picks Merino Style for something undecided.

Well, there you have it, my stash. I have a feeling it’s going to get bigger this year.

P.S. Sorry for the bad pics. Most of the time, mine are never any good.

And, (this is turning into a marathon blog post, isn’t it?) the shawl’s progress, and a scarf I made months ago.

The shawl’s progress since last night:

The scarf:

Can you guess which pattern I used?

What yarn did you use on the Scrunchable :teehee: ? I love the colors!

It’s an alpaca blend, but I don’t remember what brand. I’ll see if I saved the ball band and then tell ya’.

Okay, where the HECK did I get alpaca from? It’s knit in Red Heart (uggh) “Aspen Pring” I still don’t know what I was doing with it.

Nice to see another teen knitter around here, and a guy too! The guys at my school wouldn’t be caught dead knitting, if they did, but I’m glad you KIP! Great job on your shawl, you are much more advanced than I am :notworthy:

What, not man enough?

Well, we have today off from school, which is good, because I woke up this morning with what seems like a light cold, and I better get over it before tomorrow!

I haven’t really made much progress on the shawl or the aran, but I plan to today, as it’s the last long weekend before summer vacation. I really can’t wait. I’m giving knitting lessons this summer, so that should be fun.

I ordered some Knit Picks Essential, a set of their #1 DPN’s, and a sock patter, and they came in a few days ago. I still haven’t gotten started on the sock, but I plan to today, though. My next project after I finish the aran or the shawl (yeah, I mean it this time  ) is probably going to be either Elizabeth Zimmermann’s seamless yoke sweater, or another ribwarmer vest, I don’t know yet. We’ll just have to wait and see!

What, not man enough? ;)
 I guess not.
You’re lucky you had off of school today. I found myself at KH this morning as my bus was going by across the street and ended up being late for school. Oh, what knitting does to you… :teehee:
