Bought my first knitting book!

The only knitting book I own is a little How To leaflet with stitches and abbreviations. I have always relied on KH and Knitting Pattern Central for patterns. Well, I got some great sock yarn for Christmas and I have decided it’s time to branch away from ribbed boot socks with size 4 needles and wool-ease. Anyway I bought Ann Budd’s Knitting Socks !! I’m so excited I bought a knitting book. I think I’m going to do the Chevron socks.
So much for cleaning the house with my day off !!

SO I started really exploring Ravelry and boy oh boy do I feel so inadequate!! I need to practice, practice, practice!! I am missing out on so much by only knitting rectangles. Heck, I haven’t even seamed anything yet!! ARGH! I’m still stuck trying to figure out the basics. I want to push myself to learn new things now that I am no longer working and have more time to devote to knitting {{{JOY}}}… I feel so stupid, yet so excited to learn new things… :aww:

Congrats! I love knitting books. I think it’s a combination of love of books and love of knitting. I generally use Ravelry for my free patterns, but I still love knitting books as references and for patterns that aren’t free. I don’t think there’s such a thing as too many knitting books- so keep expanding your library!

oh no. it’s a slippery slope:woot:

Oh goodness - don’t tell the hubby its a slippery slope !! I have a hard enough time justifying my yarn stash… We have about a million reading books already.
I should mention I have been knitting for almost 10yrs from free patterns or books from the library.
