Doll complete. Knickers complete. Tutu is trouble. Pattern doesn’t make sense. Ripped out four times. Pease help
Very cute. What in particular is giving you trouble with the tutu? Perhaps you can quote a few rows for us (not the whole pattern please)?
On row 1 of pattern says work through the center point between holes in lace at each end.
Row 3 of the tutu, reads k16 tlpy. After you do the turn do you complete the row
Row 8 again a lacing row, but this one reads, cut lace carefully. Thru centre of last hole, as before.
When the pattern of 12 rows is complete, you have to knit an extra row as the lace is done on wrong side if you don’t. Totally confused.
I can understand your confusion. Is the tutu being added on to a lace top?
Yes, after you turn, complete the row. In general you complete the row unless told to do something else. Does the pattern define tlpy?
Are you using a self-ruffling yarn that has “holes” along the edge?
One of Ravely photos said it uses “knitting lace” which I think is the ribbon, ruffling yarn. If so, this video might help.
No the tutu is made of knit in lace. The bodice is knitted.
No this is knit in lace. It is lace with holes through that you knit into from the wrong side.
Tanks to everyone who is trying to help. Much appreciated.
Could you please link to an example of the type of yarn (lace with holes through) or post a photo? Or do you mean that you’ve knit lace and now you’re knitting into it? This is all really confusing to me.
Just trying to figure out how to post pictures. New to this. Patience pls. I’m a newby.
Here are some directions that’ll help with posting photos:

This is the knit-in lace. Couldn’t find in North America. Had to get it on line from Ireland. You just knit through the hole with the lace behind the needle. Video available on u tube.
The start of this pattern is cast on 19 sts and knit one row. This pattern is repeated 24 times.
How to use Knitting Eyelet Lace
OK, now I see. The yarn is worked through the holes in the lace.
Is “tlpy” defined in the pattern (I think someone else already asked)? After 12 rows you just have to knit another row so the lace is facing you (right side) again.
The wording is odd. Is this how it’s written in the pattern?
ETA finding the video was hard!
Tlpy is done by turning your work around, with wrong side acing you and having yarn at back, slipping a stitch from rh needle to lh needle. Bring yarn to front and slip st from lh needle to rh needle. This prevents a hole and you knit sts just knit, leaving the rest not touched.
Tlpy is a wrapped stitch? Are you doing short rows? I’m trying to figure out what it is that you need to figure out. What is the first thing that you’re hung up on?
What I am most concerned about is the fact that knit lace on 1st row and the 8th row, when you finish the pattern (12 rows) and you begin the pattern again row 1 (knit-in lace row) you are on the wrong side and in order to knit lace you have to knit an extra row in order to get the lace on the back of your knitting.
Row 1 of the pattern begins on a wrong side row and all the odd number rows should then be ws rows, even with the wrap and turn. There are 2 plain knit rows (rows 6 and 7) before row 8 which is a lace row, this time on the rs. If you need an extra row in order to get to the ws row, then go ahead and add one in.
I think what I will do is remove one of the knit rows and see if that solves the problem. Could be a misprint. Thank you very much for your input. I will post a picture when she is finished. She is a gift for my 6 year old granddaughter.
