What are some of your FAVORITE knitting reference books?? Not necessarily the ones with patterns, but the ones you turn to again and again for help with a problem or when you’ve got a question (and can’t get to KH)!!
I’m trying to put together a list of “books to purchase eventually”. THANKS for your help!
I started with “Teach Yourself Visually Knitting”. (Hope that link works; if not it’s easily found on amazon.com) I really like the book and have found it tremendously helpful since I started knitting a year ago.
I can’t say when I last opened a knitting book for reference. I use the internet for tutorials like Knitting Help, Knitpicks, Knitting Daily, You Tube…
Knitting for Dummies. Teach Yourself Visually: Knitting Design. One Skein Wonders. Another one on my list to buy is Knitting Without Tears by Elizabeth Zimmermann.
I own hundreds of books, and love them all, but these are 4 books that are very useful for different reasons.

If you can ever afford to spend money on classes…save the money, don’t take an expensive class. Use your education budget and purchase the Knitting Daily TV DVD set. Each 4-disc DVD set has 5hrs/48min of instruction. Holy cow. I’ve learned so much my head nearly bursts. Simple, useful, ingenious stuff. I’ve also learned things about stuff I’d never dream existed.
