Boogie Vest Question

I’m a very new knitter and am so glad I found this forum! I have a question for those of you who have made the Boggie Vest from Knitty. The pattern uses Paton’s Shetland Chunky, and requires three 148-yard skeins for my size, for a total of 444 yards. I have three skeins of another chunky yarn, but they only total 387 yards. Will that be enough? I bought this yarn at a shop about 30 miles away, and don’t know if I can get back there to get more before it’s all gone.

If it is a similar gauge, then it will not be enough. You might wand to do a gauge swatch to see how close they are. Chances are it will not be enough yarn.

Thanks, Carmen. They are the same gauge, and I thought it probably would not be enough.
