Okay, my first blocking project. It is pinned to the measurements in the pattern.
Does it look right. For ‘man-made’ yarn it says to spray and block, but it doesn’t say how much spray (how wet should it be).
What is it you are making? I was going to say that you could use a few more pins on the edges to keep it from having dips and peaks. But then I thought maybe some of them I’m seeing are along a possible ribbed area that you don’t want to pin out. I can’t tell. You don’t need to have pins out in the middle but you want the edge to look as much like you want it to end up as possible. You don’t want it scalloped at all. It is possible that with man made yarn it won’t matter much, but you might as well shoot for smooth edges. For instance, on the top picture it looks quite smooth along the upper right side of the picture, the very bottom edge looks like a few more pins would help.
As far as how much to spay it, I’d spray it until it is wet. The kind of wet you might acheive if you had washed it and then spun it in the washer or rolled it in a towel. It doesn’t need to be dripping wet, but nice and evenly damp throughout the fiber.
