BEST WAY TO JOIN NEW COLOR/YARN FOR TOE OF SOCK

#1

Hi,
I’m knitting my first pair of socks (top down) and I’ve come to the point where I need to break off the MC and join the CC to begin decreasing for the toe. What is the preferred way to break off and join two different colored yarns so that the change is not obvious and it’s as secure as possible (given that it is a sock toe)?
Thanks,
Kathy

I always use one of these two methods: the Russian join or weaving in as I knit.

Of these two, the Russian join is stronger but it is not the same easy to get the join exactly at the right stitch, so if you use this method, consider to do the join under the foot.
This is how you do the Russian join:

If you weave in as you knit, you can place the join exactly where you want.

Thank you. It has to be exact, so I I’ll try the weaving in suggestion.
