I have a bunch of chenille I inherited from someone and would like to maybe make a blanket but I’ve never worked with it before. I’m hoping I can learn from your mistakes. 
Is there a stitch or stitches that work better for chenille than others? Thx!
I’ve never worked with chenille yarn but based on what I’ve read, I’d probably stick with garter stitch and use largish needles. GS will lie flat and is perfect for a simple blanket.
Since the stitches don’t show much with fuzzy yarn I’d personally stick to garter. However you can do a swatch and see what looks best to you.
It depends, is it cotton chenille or is it a man-made fiber? The cotton chenille will work very well in garter stitch, but sometimes the chenille with acrylics and other things are rather slippery and you can have worming with garter stitch.
If it’s cotton chenille, I love making washcloths, but a blanket in garter stitch would be lovely too.
I’m not sure what kind it is. I did some swatches and went with a zigzag stockinette stitch. I am having problems with the worming, though. Any way to fix that?
