Hello everyone I am new to this site and have been in search of some help with this pattern I am starting for my new nephew. The pattern says Panels but then breaks down on the next page as cast on 195 stitches…so I know this probably sounds stupid but are the panels just what is involved in making the blanket and not separate? I know when you do chevron patterns sometimes you work in panels which you have to knit together but this pattern in the new book says work row one of panel one etc…am I reading this correctly ? I have only been knitting for about a year so this is a little more difficult but I love the challenge! Any help would be wonderful!
I don’t have the pattern so I’m not sure, but are there panels you seam together at the end?
Hi jan it does not say to cast off anywhere on the page so this is what is confusing me it is the lacy blanket it says panels I II III then gives instructions on the panels then at the bottom of page it says cast on 195 stitches purl then next row as panel I first row continue as panel then it keeps saying something like panel complete continue to next row say rs panel II work rows II and III it’s confusing…
It sounds like you’re given the instructions for each of the panels and then you’ll work row 1 from panel 1, row 1 from panel 2, row 1 from panel 3. On the next row you’d work a row from panel 3, a row from panel 2, then a row from panel 1. Maybe?
Is there a picture or anything online that you could link to? That could be helpful.
Here’s the photo…

Welcome!
It looks like you may start with panel I over all the sts and then after so many rows change to panels II, III and II over the same 195 sts. Seems like panel I is the lace/bobble pattern, panel II is a shortened version of the lace/bobble and panel III is the horseshoe lace (the main panel of the blanket).
It’s really a gorgeous blanket. Can you tell us the number or name of the Bernat book?

Thanks very much for the pattern book information. I see one of these blankets in my future. If any questions come up along the way, be sure to come back. We’d be happy to hear how the blanket is going. Love to see a photo of yours when you finish, too if you’d like to post one.
