Do you have the right stitch count after the inc row, 141 sts? In the first 9 rows there are 6 sts before the repeat, 10sts in each repeat x 13 and 5sts after the repeats. It may help to mark off the repeats in sections of 10sts. Remember too that the yarn over or yrn doesn’t use up a stitch but occurs between sts.
I tink them until I got to row 7 garter stitch. I counted them to make sure I got cast on 133 and did.
Good. And did you have 141 after the increase of 8sts?
It said on the instructions that I have to space 8 sts across the work by working 6 to 10 sts than increase one sts. I did do it. Row 1 it gave me 6 sts.
1st row: (RS). K5. P1. *K4. K2tog. K3. yrn. P1. Rep from * to last 5 sts. K5.
The best I can suggest is to mark off the 10stitch repeats after the first 6 sts. There will be 6sts, the 10stitch repeats and then k5.
That works out to 6 + (10 x 13) + 5 = 141
You shouldn’t have 6 sts left over.
Ok. I stitch 8 then I eaither st 6 or 10 sts then I inc 1 stich 8 time?
Yes, you want the increases spaced out across the row. The number of stitches between the increases doesn’t have to be exact, approximately every 15sts is fine.
(Row 9) k5 p1 *yon k3 Sl1 k1 psso k4 p1 rep last 5 sts. Do I knit 6 at the biginning of row 9 and that do I repeat yon k3 sl1 k1 psso k4 pl 13 + knit 5 sts.
9th row: K5. P1. *yon. K3. Sl1. K1. psso. K4. P1. Rep from * to last
5 sts. K5.
Knit 5.
Repeat yon. K3. Sl1. K1. psso. K4. P1. until you have only 5 sts on the left needle.
Knit 5.
On (Row 7) I knit 14 stitches then I inc one stitch. I did it 8 times and I also knit 14 stitches on the end of row 7 garter stitch.
Great, as long as you have 141 to start row one you’re good to go.
You can put a marker after the first 6sts and then every 10sts up to the last 5sts. The markers can be as simple as small circles of contrasting yarn. The markers will help keep each repeat correct.
(Row 2 )when I get to the yarn over from (Row 1) do I knit the yarn over?
Purl the yarn over on row 2.
I did what you told me to do and it works so thank you for helping me out. I’ll let you know if I get stuck on the same blanket pattern.
I’m stuck again. I’m on (Row 15) k5 *p1 k3 yfwd sl1 k1 psso k4 rep from *to last 6 sts p1 k5. How do I yfwd sl1 k1 psso?
The first part of this video shows the yfwd sl 1 k1 psso. The yarn over that happens when you k1 will try to come over the slip stitch so make sure that you are passing only the slip stitch over.
You are making good progress!
