Hi. In need of your help once again.
Pattern reads as follows: Cast on 159 sts.
Knit 3 rows, noting 1st row is WS and inc 10 sts evenly across last row. 169 sts.

1st row: K4. yfwd. K2togtbl. K2. (K2tog. yfwd) twice. *(K2tog. yfwd) twice. K4. yfwd. K2togtbl. K2. (K2tog. yfwd) twice. Rep from * to last 13 sts. (K2tog. yfwd) twice. K3. K2tog. yfwd. K4.

2nd and alt rows: K3. Purl to last 3 sts. K3.

My problem is that after adding the 10 stitches to give me a total of 169, I began working Row 1 (see above) the number of stitches do not add up to 169. I followed the instructions but can’t get it.
What am I doing wrong?. Please help.

The yfwd is a yarn over which makes an additional stitch. It won’t use up a stitch. Bring the yarn to the front between the needles and then over the right needle to the back.

There are 12sts before the repeat of 16sts x 9 followed by 13 sts after the last repeat.
