Just started socks to be made as a gift, and I noticed the yarn is 75% wool and 25% bamboo not nylon as I thought. Will this make a sock that will wear well with no nylon?
If they were for me, I would consider it an experiment, but since they are a gift, I want to be sure I’m giving something worth giving!

What little bit of searching I did says that the bamboo is added to make a stronger yarn so I would think that it would be great for socks. I didn’t see any washing instructions.
I don’t know about the strength factor, but the addition of bamboo would make for a nice soft sock yarn.

I knitted some socks from my husband last summer from bamboo yarn such as you describe. The yarn was soft, very nice to work with and appears to be very strong. I think you’ve made a good choice! The only problem I noticed with it was that the yardage on the ball was rather sparse. So, in using two balls of the yarn, I really didn’t have enough to finish both socks. And my local yarn shop - from whence I had purchased it - didn’t have any more in black, which was the color I was using. But, they did have purple, so what I did was to start both socks in the black that I had and knitted them to about the middle of the foot - and finished both in purple bamboo yarn that I bought to supplement my black. So, now my husband has a pair of black bamboo socks - with purple toes! It’s our little joke!
