I made my own version of the Booga Bag (bigger and wider) and for the most part am very pleased with it. It has a large flat base and I am trying to think of something to use inside the bag to give the bag more stability. I cut a piece of cardboard to insert inside the bag and it does give the bag nice shape and definition but the cardboard will not be durable enough.
Any ideas on what could be use to cut a base out of (I think it’s around 12"x6") that will be sturdy but not too heavy?
you could laminate the cardboard/ posterboard
you could use a flexible cutting board that is made of plastic (might be hard to cut to size- but do-able)
you could use contact paper to cover the cardboard/ posterboard if you don’t have a laminator
:??
You know when I made my booga, I actually doubled the bottom piece for this reason. It still could be better. I like the idea of plastic.
where can i get plastic canvas i made a booga bag and not sure what to do with the bottom and saw you had mentioned to someone plastic canvas
That is a GREAT idea!! Any craft store should sellit (Joann’s, Michaels, AC Moore etc)
Thanks brendajos!!!
I was at my LYS sale last December and there was a woman there who crocheted purses. She said she uses the self stick flooring…like linoleum maybe? Anyway she said it worked great! The lining hides the bottom anyway.
Another good idea… I wonder if I could get a piece big enough :??
