Baby sweater--adding yarn from a bind off edge

My instructions were to put one front section on a holder and the back section on a holder. Then I finished the right side. Now I’m supposed to go and finish the back. How in the world am I supposed to finish the back when I bound off the yarn on the right side? Whew! How do you add the yarn? I have the back on one needle, again, where is the other yarn–how do I get the yarn for the add on? I’m going crazy…I can’t find instructions anywhere! Please help me.

What pattern are you using? You said they were on holders not bound off… If you put the stitches on a holder just slip them onto the needle and use whatever yarn is called for. You just start knitting with it.

How do you add the yarn?

Divide for Fronts and Back
Next Row: K 24 (25, 27, 31) sts and slip to a holder for Right Front, k 42 (44, 48, 56) sts and slip to a holder for Back, k remaining 24
(25, 27, 31) sts for Left Front. Continue on sts for Left Front only.
Continue in St st, keeping the 3 edge sts in Garter St, until piece measures 5 1/4 (5 1/2, 6 1/2, 7 1/2) in. (13 (14, 16.5, 19.5) cm) from
beg.
Work a fourth buttonhole row, then work even until piece measures 6 1/4 (6 1/2, 7 1/2, 8 1/2) in. (16 (16.5, 19, 21.5) cm) from beg,
end with a WS row.
Neck Shaping
Decrease 1 st at neck edge every row until 10 (12, 14, 17) sts remain. Work even until piece measures 9 1/2 (10, 12, 14) in. (24 (25.5,
30.5, 35.5) cm) from beg. Bind off.
Back
With WS facing, slip sts from Back st holder to needle and join yarn. Continue in St st as established, until piece measures 8 1/2 (9, 11,
13) in. (24 (25.5, 30.5, 35.5) cm) from beg, end with RS row.
Next Row (WS): P7 (9, 11, 14), k28 (26, 26, 28), p7 (9, 11, 14).
Knit 1 row.
Repeat last 2 rows twice. Bind off.
Right Front
With WS facing, slip sts from Right Front st holder to needle and join yarn. Work as for Left Front, reversing shaping.

To add or ‘join’ yarn, you just start knitting with it. Leave a tail so you can weave it when you’re done.
