Hi… I have just finished knitting the little blanket /shawl from this pattern and wondered what would be the best stitch to use to join the edging please? Thank you 
Beautiful pattern for the blanket and the whole layette.
If you want to minimize the seam between the edging and the body of the blanket, you could try a Bickford seam. It gives essentially no ridge on the back unlike the mattress stitch. It’s not as sturdy however.
