Baby shawl/blanket ..help

Hi… I have just finished knitting the little blanket /shawl from this pattern and wondered what would be the best stitch to use to join the edging please? Thank you :blush:

Beautiful pattern for the blanket and the whole layette.
If you want to minimize the seam between the edging and the body of the blanket, you could try a Bickford seam. It gives essentially no ridge on the back unlike the mattress stitch. It’s not as sturdy however.
