Baby Booties

Hello, I am working on a pattern for baby booties. Part of the pattern says work in Eyelet pattern starting with 27 stitches and row 3 as follows:
K1*yo, p1, p3tog, p1, yo, k1; rep from * to end.
I am happy with how to do the yo with the knit and purl but am slightly confused as to firstly should I end of with the same number of stitches? And secondly, I seem to have a couple of spare stitches at the end and not sure what to do with them….any help would be appreciated

Welcome to KH!
Yes, the row should end with the same number of sts that it began with. The two yo’s increase the count by 2 and the p3tog decreases the count by 2.
The repeat takes 6sts and leaves you with 6sts. Is that the count that you have?
What is the name of your pattern?
