My FIL bought my niece a sweet little knitted baby bonnet-type hat from a bazaar and it is soooo cute, that I’d like to make one too!! I’m having trouble finding the pattern though. Already checked all the links in the baby hat section at Knitting Pattern Central, so I was hoping that someone here could help me out…
It was a bonnet-style hat with a little I-cord strap to go underneath the chin, I THINK it had cables, or possibly just a “cable-esque” design and the hat kind of ended at the crown of the head with a little point - not pointy enough to take your eye out, but pointy enough to notice that there’s a point there!
There’s a completely fabulous baby bonnet pattern in Erika Knight’s “Knitting for Two.” I’ve knit it twice and will keep on knitting it again and again! It’s so cute! I got the book from my library.
LOVE THAT BONNET!!!
I think I need to make a trip to my public library. If they don’t have it, I hope they can get it through the library loan system.
That IS a gorgeous hat!! Not quick the same as the one I’m looking for, but I’m definitely going to write down that book’s name, in case the other one doesn’t turn up!!
Here’s one from the book “Last-Minute Knitted Gifts” http://passionknit.typepad.com/weblog/files/baby_bonnet.jpg
I got this from the library and liked it enough I bought it (from buy.com for half price, wooo!). It doesn’t have cables, but I think it’d knit up pretty quick.
