BUT this doesn’t quite make sense to me… I’m only a few rows in, but it’s not looking right. With the way the pattern is written, wouldn’t it make half the border garter stitch, and the other stockinette?
Row 2: K4, YO, knit to the end of the row.
Row 3: K4, YO, purl to the end of the row.
Repeat rows 2-3 until you have reached HALF the desired size for your baby blanket.
Shouldn’t it be that the first and last 4 stitches be knit? For example, shouldn’t row 3 read K4, purl to last 4 stitches, K4?
That is odd… :?? I’ve made a bazillion of these dishcloths and they are knit only, no purling.
Here are a couple more links to the dishrag baby blanket that are only knit. That pattern you have seems to be off so why don’t you go with one of these unless you want to purl and adjust the pattern. These are different patterns, but appear to be done the same way.
I had made one of these dishclothes before so I was mighty confused! I modified it the way I posted above so the middle part is stockinette… just because I like the way it looks with me double stranding a strand of lavendar and aqua. :teehee: I just realized something… I hope it doesn’t curl doing it this way!
