You can make any argyle girly by choosing more girly colors of course. I know there are vests for babies in these books. You might see if the library has one or more of them.
I just found out my daughter in law and son are having a baby boy and my son loves argyle, so I went on Ravelry.com and clicked “patterns” and just put in “argyle” in the search bar. There are a lot of patterns, but not too many baby ones. There is one that has a blanket that is so cute…I ordered the magazine and plan on making at least the blanket…not sure about the sweater though.
Congrat’s on your baby girl! I think a pink/orange/yellow argyle vest would be adorable!!

Hi Jan,
Thanks for posting all of these! I’m going to go through my books, because I know I have at least one of them!
I went on Ravelry and put in “argyle” and found some cute patterns.
I just found out yesterday that my daughter in law and son are expecting a baby boy in September! He will be the little brother to the baby you see in the picture with me. She, Bailey, is now 16 months old, already!
My son loves argyle and I kept meaning to make Bailey a “girly”, pink/orange/yellow vest, but I’m still working on her cable knit cardigan…just have to put it together, so maybe I’ll make it for her when she is older.
Hi,
Oh! Please remember to post it here when you are done! I have that book and just looked at the pattern, it is adorable!
Can I ask you about the avatar picture? Is that a picture of you? I love it! I took a lot of B&W pictures of my daughter in law and son when she was pregnant and when the baby was a couple days old. I never saw a pose like that…I’m going to have to show her and if she wants a picture like that, I’m going to have to be a copy cat!
I looked in your profile to see if there were any more, and saw the wedding picture…that’s beautiful too! So you guys are in the Marines? My daughter and son in law are too! They were stationed at Camp Pendleton for 4 years and now they are in Okinawa…we are going to visit in June!
Sorry to ramble:eyes: !
Look forward to seeing your vest when it’s done!

Did you have the picture professionally done or did a friend do it for you? I was wondering about the lighting??
Wow that’s great that he will be home soon! My son in law did 4 deployments to Iraq. They have 3 children and 2 of them were born during that time. I went to CA for all of the births, just in case he didn’t make it back in time, but they were very lucky, he made it home each time! He did have to leave when one was just 3 weeks old and didn’t see her for 11 months, so they are all together on Okinawa for now!!!:yay:
Can’t wait to see your vest!
Take care,
