Attaching satin binding to a knitted blanket

I need some advice. I have just completed a simple white baby blanket and would like to attach white satin binding to it. Do I simply sew it on with a machine? As you have probably guessed I am not an experienced knitter and would appreciate any hints and suggestions. Thank you very much.

I see no problem sewing it on with the machine.
