I am making a big Men’s XL bottom up cabled sweater because I am a tad crazy. I worked the back of the sweater from armpit to the top of the shoulder and realized that I did the decreasing for the armpit incorrectly.
It is the “dreams of aran” drops pattern. My rav name is weezerjean.
The pattern said to cast off on each side at the beginning of every row. I misread and decreased at each side of every row. Meaning I did half the amount of decrease rows that the sweater called for making a steeper slope. I have to correct stitch count I just dropped them too quickly. It doesn’t look strange I just know it’s different than it should be.
I am not willing to frog. Too much time. Usually I would but this sweater is so intense and I just can’t bear being set back a couple/few weeks.
My question is this: should I decrease the front side of the sweater the way the pattern calls for or the same as the back? Is this mistake going to have horrible consequences??? Does anyone have experience with this?
Thank you so much for your input!
