I have finished my first hat and I love it, now I want to try mittens (I am a beginner). I have yet to browse for a pattern but am cusious if felted are warmer as I live where it gets pretty cold. Also, I love wool but Patons classic is about the only wool I have access to, generally speaking as long as the guage is correct, will it be warm enough? Any tips?

I made felted mittens from the book “Knit One, Felt Too”. They are lovely warm for NY weather. It’s a bit like wearing potholders, though. :teehee: In a good way. As long as the yarn is mostly wool, it will felt just fine. You will use a larger needle size than the gauge the yarn calls for, it will depend on the pattern you use. Have fun!
Patons Classic Felts beautifully!!!
