Hi. I’m new at this posting thing… SO, pleeeze bare with me!
Approx. 20 something years ago I had a pattern for the sweetest and easiest baby sweater. I loaned the magazine to a friend…well, the rest is history, right? I’m going to try to describe the pattern as best I can and see if ANY of you might recognize this pattern…and hopefully have it in your stash.
The sweater is knit all in one piece and starts off with the hood. The hood shaping is done in short rows. Then on to the neck area and from there it’s the normal knit, inc, knit, inc, knit, inc, etc. for the yoke area. The rest of the sweater is knit pretty much like a lot of the one-piece sweaters (ex. 5 hour baby sweater).
This pattern came out of one of the MANY older publications/magazines that we used to buy off the newstand or at the grocery store…for the life of me I can’t remember what it was. Think it has to do with getting older, ya think? :crying: I remeber it was towards the back of the magazine and there wasn’t a very large picture of the baby wearing the sweater. I made several of these sweaters…they were so easy and the sleeves weren’t narrow. You could actually get a wiggling baby’s arm into them.
Does this pattern sound familiar to anyone out there in “knitting land”?
BTW…I’m what you call an RV “full timer”. Right now we are parked up in Golden, CO. and there’s a prediction of more “white stuff” coming our way!! I’m from the Texas coastal area!!! Brrrrr! I’d love to hear from any of you out there that also reside in an RV. Perhaps you can give me some pointers on where to put all my yarn!
Thanks for taking the time to read my first post…and hopefully someone has this wonderful pattern that they would share with me.
Sandy
