I have a friend at church who is new at knittinge and she is going to be an aunt in 8 months. What is a cute beginner knitting baby blanket project.One that is cute and can somewhat be a small challenge…like adding yarn over or increase decrease and knit 2 tog.Something easy. :knitting:

The first washcloth I made was Grandmas Favorite Washcloth and this is the baby blanket version of that…
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]YO - Yarn Over (Wrap the yarn around the right needle)
K2TOG - Knit two stitches together
P2TOG - Purl two stitches together[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Cast on 8 stitches[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]1. Knit 4, YO, knit to the end.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]2. Knit 4, YO, Purl to the last 4, Knit 4.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]3. Repeat the above 2 rows until the blanket is as wide as you would like it to be.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]4. Knit 3, K2TOG, YO, K2TOG, knit to the end of the row.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]5. Knit 3, K2TOG, YO, P2TOG, Purl to the last 4, Knit 4.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]6. Repeat rows 4 and 5 until you have 8 stitches left on the needles.[/FONT]
