Hi all,
I want to crochet an afghan blanket for my mom as Mother’s Day gift, the finished size is 52”60”. I just have a piece of afghan hooks and 100cm circular needles, dose the hook and circular needle adequate for this afghan?
any help, thanks in advance.
 Aside from mixing inches and cm? 52" x 60" would be about 132 cm by 152 cm. And if by afghan blanket you mean an Afghan stitch (or Tunisian simple stitch) blanket, then I would guess that a circular cable of 100 cm would be enough length because the loops would squish together easily enough.
Another alternative is to make the blanket in panels of a more comfortable width and 152 cm in length then seam the together. Somewhere I found a pattern for a Fleur-de-Les afghan design that uses panels.
the Afghan or Tunisian stitch makes a very warm and comfortable blanket.
