I did a search on ‘translating french’ threads here in the forum and found this one…
…maybe the knitter named ‘iza’ could help you if you pm’d her !
Morning,
Hi Julie,
glad to hear that u and caitlin are doing fine. Talking about 3 yo, sometiems i wish that Jayne is sill in the 3 yo stage. My little girl is growing too fast, before i know, she is already 9yo.
(All i could say is to treasure and enjoy every moment of our kids)
Dustinac - love the socks. I cant knit with change colour too much, always ended up one side tighter than the other…sigh!
Dotty - Yah, that sig pic is HUGE !!! Hahaha No more play, very stressful…
I changed to another one, my fav pumpkin pic.
As for me, no knitting of sock. I m half way thru knitting a bag(i m a bag girl)…lalala
:blooby: Good Morning Socksters!! :woot: It’s Friday…
Thanks dotty for searching the forum for me… I never even thought of that…I did send a message to the designer so I’m waiting to see if I hear from her first…
Jackie~ I know what you mean…I cry at their b-days cause it’s another year that passed us by in a flash…I tell dh the only reason I don’t like getting older is cause they are too…I wish I could keep them small…
Mom told me this moring she put money in the mail today so I can order her some telemark yarn and make her some snowflake socks :teehee: …she wants them to be blue and white…she has smaller feet than I do…so I get to knit the pattern again :happydance:
I started Roo a tam last night but I think it’s going to be to big…:wall:
I’m going to start the candy cane socks from KP soon too… I have some green gloss yarn in my stash I can use :happydance: or I have a light green that I dyed that I could use…hrmmm
Hope you all have a good day of knitting
Thanks for all the encouragement & support gals. Dh was bummed yesterday that we weren’t having her, he said he wants to meet her so bad and hold her, and then ds (3 year old) was upset because he wasn’t gonna get to play at Papa’s (dh’s dad’s) house. So we got happy meals, and things were better. I think Dh is more antsy than I am, he keeps calling asking how things are going; I know he’s waiting for me to call him at work and pull him off his route to join me at the hospital (the big doctor’s office as ds calls it). Patience, I tell him. She’s happy inside, let her be-yes I want her out too, but I want her out and healthy.
As far as knitting goes, still haven’t done much on Mom’s knitted lace ball, I have 3.5 repeats done of the 14 that need to be done, so maybe some more of that today. I also need to find buttons to go on Caitlin’s sweater and guess I should put that in the hospital bag, which is now in the car-as is her carseat. Ok off to change dd’s diaper, talk to y’all later.
TGIF Socksters,
Just wanted to pop in and say “HI!” :waving:to everyone.
Glad everything is going good for you Julie.
Just started the heel flap this morning and will hopefully be able to finish both heels tonight.
Take care and sock on,
Carla
is it me, or does it seem like there’s just a handful of us that are chatting in this thread/kal? What happened to everyone else? Did they move on to other kals?
I guess we get a little too chatty sometimes, but we ALWAYS get back to the socks, and usually a tip or two, or atleast a question comes up. Maybe we seem too ‘cliquey’ , and it’s just too much to read through if you don’t ‘know’ us !

Don’t give up on us folks…there’s usually a pattern or a pattern link shared every once in awhile, too !
Ya’ know, it would be nice if this were made a ‘sticky thread’ in the knitalong section, since it’s so on-going !
This is also a busy time of year for gift knitting and winter wear so that could be why as well…
I had seen thissite awhile back and then couldn’t find it again… If you scroll down lots of sock patterns that you gotta buy but are cute…and I think they are about 4.00… in Volume 1 of the Sock Month they have the cutest sheep sock pattern… :teehee:
I just wanted to say I heard back from the designer this is what she said in case any of you might like to make the snowflake socks
This is for a large size. I cast-on 68 stitches The gauge is 29 stitches for 10 cm with 3,5 mm needles I’ve centered the chart, and decreased 4 stitches for the heel.
1to1~ Can’t wait to see it… :happydance:
finished knitting the ornament, now we’re off to the store to buy some balloons so I can make it a ball! I’ll post pics on my blog later…can’t believe I don’t have any balloons in this house, what kind of Mama am I?
Oh, I lovethis one…it’s basically the same as the socks in my avatar…just changing the colors !
If this thread seems to play out, we could always start a ‘AnyHolidayGiftKAL’ !
But, back to socks, I’ve started the wee, little sock that my friend requested for her tree…man that Chinese yarn is fine ! I guess the sock could go in either KAL !
(hubby is crafty too, and is making coffee scoops out of cedar !)
Cool coffee scoop, Dotty’s hubby!
I really like the color of that yarn Dotty-gonna be pretty.
I posted pics on my blog of the ornament-it has to dry before I can pop the balloon-I’m so excited to see it finished!
Now what sock do I want to start-that should make Caitlin antsy to come…actually they’re calling for a cold front to hit Sun/Mon and each time I’m about due we get a snap of winter weather and that always sends me in…so we’ll see.
Dotty!!! I was looking at another kal, and found thispattern for Felted Mary Jane slippers!
Neat, huh?
Hello,
Tis is not only a Sock KAL but also a place to keep us company. i love being here as a big family even though we are far apart…
Jberry, Take care and not over tired yourself.
Dustinac - shhhh…do not leak out the secret of them getting older and we’re getting much older…LOL
Dotty - I m a coffee drinker too, must have a cuppa each morning. Not the instant type but the brewing one. I have a coffee marker but hardly use it, cos i buy coffee black every morning on the way back after sending Jayne to school. Not the expensive type, it costs only 60cts.
Says Hi to your DH.
Isn’t that neat…the coffee scoop, I mean…he just up and started carving spoons one day last year ! Here’s a shot of the finished scoop… http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2248/1937759765_c9947a88a0_o.jpg
Thank you for the slippers link, Julie…dustinac found those earlier too !
I saw the new pics on your blog…love the ornament…I hope it holds its shape well !
You’re so tiny for how far along you are ! I bet you always get your figure back within a month !
Just think, next Tuesday, (when you give birth), you can smile at your little Caitlin Marie, and tell her that her ‘aunty dotty’ welcomes her to this world ! She should be pretty well developed by that point, shouldn’t she? It’s still 3 weeks early, though ! But then, you only HAVE 8 month pregnancies, right?
I finished Wanda’s sock, but the Chinese yarn isn’t as pretty in a tiny thing as the soft fuzzy merino. That’s a pair of regular snips that I use at the sewing machine…I included it just for size comparison. But, I took such a close-up that you lose perspective.

RoryGilmore, how are you feeling? I hope you’re getting past the yuckies !
Good Morning Socksters :blooby:
I was browsing KPC this morning and found thisSideways sock pattern…I think it looks pretty cool…might give it a try when I can…
Julie~I can’t wait to see the ornament finished…looks very pretty…is it your own pattern?
dotty~ what a cute spoon…it looks great…my dad does a lot of wood work and carvings…it’s neat to watch… I like the santa sock too a lot of them there that I do like…cute ornament!! I need to make my small sock from what little and I mean little yarn I have left from the snowflake socks…
Jackie~:teehee: ok no more secret sharing :teehee: …yep your right we have become very close here and I hope other join in the sock family :happydance:
I’ve messed up my left shoulder…I think I did it driving Wed night…dh had to work over so I drove home from church and it was dark…I was so tense watching for deer that I think that is when I did it…this morning I woke up looking like a foot player who only put pads on one arm… I was able to knit some yesterday but not much…today doesn’t look like I will at all…:wall:
I hope you guys have a good day and happy sock knitting!!
Dotty: YOU ARE AN AWESOME SEAMSTRESS!!! Yes I got my pkg today, right after we got home from the flu shot clinic the mailwoman was one house away and so she handed me my mail-no need to pounce. I got into it right away and the little watermelon socks you enclosed for Caitlin are so pretty and precious!!! What kind of yarn is that? It’s soooooooo soft. And I really like the garter top.
As for how long the pregnancies last, I’ll be 37 weeks on Tues, so that’d be 9 months and 1 week. I was having some problems with the nifedipine and it was making my left foot feel numb and swollen-never looked swollen but it felt like it was blown up like a huge balloon. So I called the oncall midwife last night after I took the 5pm dose and she told me to discontinue taking it…So it’s anybody’s guess as to when she’ll be born now. Contractions are few and far between. My neighbor wants her to stay in for another 3 weeks. And it takes longer than 1 month to get back in my jeans-but I’ll take the compliment, thanks.
Dustinac: the ornament isn’t my pattern, I found it here. The sideways socks look interesting, let me know what you think after you do them.
Oh, happy day !!!:woot: I’m so glad you like the little pouch and the surprise for Caitlin ! That’s the wool that I used for my Watermelon Pomatomusses, so it’s SUPERWASH ! Hooray for machine-washable wool ! I meant to put a note in with them telling you what they were made of and I forgot !
Now I can share the pictures that I couldn’t the other day !:teehee: These are the socks I made for Caitlin Marie…if they’re too little, which they may very well be, they can always hang on the tree to remind Julie and family of Caitlin’s first Christmas !
I don’t think they’ll be too little, maybe a little big, but I can put a store bought pair on under them. Thank you again!
O and I posted pictures on my blog!!! (just click the purple sock in my sig)
