Any Sock KAL 2

:sun: Good Morning Socksters!!

Carey~There was another situation with Isaiah and the boy but Isaiah stood up for himself (again) and it seems now the boy is tip toeing around Isaiah…so maybe he now knows that Isaiah won’t just take it. I hope!

Chris~ I’m hunched over looking down on my monitor…my desk is really not a desk but a coca cola table :teehee:

Ann~Yeah I went and looked but the yard is really small…I know we should buy but when you live here with woods and plenty of room for the kids to run and play…well it’s hard for me to give it up to go back to living door to door and small yards :teehee: . That is a great photo!! Don’t worry about posting, we miss your posts but understand

Gina~:woot: That’s great news! How are you feeling? I hope your feeling better…I’ll try that and see…will have to get use to using my left hand :teehee:

Jackie~It’s better as long as I don’t over do it on the computer…this past weekend I was on the computer way to much looking up stuff I guess :teehee: How is your knitting goin?

Sue~Take it easy, we miss reading your posts, and can’t wait to see the socks…I hope you feel better soon

Christine~ we miss you too and hope you feel better soon!

Not much planned here today gotta run the sweeper and all that jazz. The kids go to Christmas play rehersal tonight and I need to work on some more stockings.

I hope you all have a great day of knitting :sun:

Going for treatment again today at 1 o’clock. Last night the next door neighbour, who is a very lovely Chinese lady, saw me and asked why I was so “stiff”. When I explained she brought me inside her house to her mother, who was one of the top surgeons in the biggest hospital in Beijing China before she moved to Canada. The mother put on a lab coat and immediately did a massage on me and it felt soooooo good! My range of motion has improved about 25% since Monday!

A bit of good news for DH and I! Those people upstairs are getting a present of money from her mother for a downpayment on a brand new house and his father is buying them the house in a town 1/2 an hour away. He will then pay his father back. Yay!!!

Hi everyone, sorry I am not commenting on each post, but I AM reading them all. After all, where would I be without my daily fix of KH?

Christine: The massage sounds great. Wonderful news about your upstairs neighbors. When are they moving out?

They have not bought the house yet, they are waiting for the lady to send them the money first. They are looking at getting one of those new townhouses in Milton. I pity their new neighbours!

The massage WAS wonderful. You would benefit from that as well. Should get the doctor to order it for you. I was amazed at how much better I felt after only one treatment!

Dustina, I’m glad that Isaiah’s situation at school is getting better and that he felt confident to stand up for himself- wonderful news!

Christine, WOO HOO, I’m so glad the evil neighbors are leaving! Congrats on the massage- but remember to keep taking it easy!

Jackie, have a good yarn spree! Sounds fun, but I don’t know of the place you mentioned!

Sue, at least one headache is gone! We’re having weather fronts in today and tomorrow, so I can expect that headache to continue, but they’re easier to handle when I don’t have the other one! Hope your shoulder is better soon!

Isaiah sounds like he’s handling things well, Dustina!:cheering: Trackball is easier to get used to than mouse–left handed, that is.

Christine, I’m SO Happy for you!!! On both the neighbors moving and the massage and improvement! You need to become close friends with your Chinese neighbor! Don’t worry about commenting on everything; we’re just glad to hear from you!

I got to knit for a little while at work today. I have the evening off, so I hope to get a little more done on the CPH.

Just swinging in to say a quick good morning! All is well here. Been busy trying to knit the mini stockings for the charity thread. I have 8 done so far.

Dustina~Glad to hear Isaiah is standing up to the bully. Good for him!

Christine~YAY for the treatment plan for your neck. I hope it helps you. DH wouldn’t be able to move if it wasn’t for his Chiropractor and massages. Glad to hear the neighbors will be moving too. Tell the landlord you want to be part of the selection process for the next tenants he rents to.

Gina~Glad the stressful student/mother are gone. Hopefully it will help with some of the headaches.

Sue~I hope your shoulder feels better soon. We went to a TV show taping years ago when I was in my teens and we were visiting California. It was fun to see all the behind the scene stuff that goes on. Take care!

Hi to everyone!! Hope you all are having a great morning! Back to lurking…

:sun: Good Morning Socksters!!

Christine~Great news about the n’bors :woot: …hope you feel better soon

Carey~I hope you were able to knit last night :happydance:

Gina~Weather changes :wall: about the time I feel good it’s time for another change and messed my sinuses back up…it’s been nice here lately and I haven’t had any headaches/pressure/draining…it’s been great but this weekend is suppose to be different…I hope you got to knit on CPH last night :yay:

Lisa~:happydance: YAY on the stockings and seeing you post!!

Hi everyone!!

Thanks guys…he seems to be doing better and handling it better. The last meeting I had at the school went well…seems the other little boy has been doing other things so seems to have their attention for now…

Nothing much happening here today but dance class and knitting on som stockings :teehee:

I hope you guys have a great day of knitting :sun:

Ann~I heard back from the lady who had started those socks. It’s Berroco Comfort and 100% Acrylic with nylon. I would have NEVER guessed it. It was so soft and so easy to knit with even more than some of my expensive sock yarns. I’ve never seen it in the stores around here but gonna look it up
ETA: I looked it up and it’s a DK weight–uh never mind they have fingering too : )

Just a quickie this am y’all.
Gina glad to be rid of the icky Mom, hope she’s nice to the next teacher.

Christine :woot: is there anyway you could talk to the landlord & move to the upstairs level?

Dustina glad Isaiah is doing better, way to go buddy! Did I miss the post saying y’all were moving?

Chris :roflhard: you may remove your hands & begin knitting.

Lucky is home & happy, he curles up in my lap very often & the night of the 4th he curled up on my chest & slept there for a while, long enough for me to fall asleep before he left. He’s such a loveing kitty.
I’m headed to clean Grandma’s house today & help her a bit with her computer, digital photo frame etc.

O good news, remember on Oct 16th I told y’all that my best friends wife had their baby boy (#4) 5 weeks early & he was in the nicu on a ventilator? well he got to come home on the 4th & is doing well. Thanks for all your thoughts/prayers.

OK gotta hit the shower before Katie wakes up.

:waving: everyone else I missed…

I don’t know in some things trust comes very slowly.

Chris - looks up from carving styrofoam with an exacto knife I just don’t know why you men are such wusses. You’re only endanger of being… injured… if you’re being a jerk.

Deleted - NVA

Lisa, good to hear from you again!

Dustina, hope the weather change doesn’t affect you too badly!

I got to knit for about an hour at work today!:woot: I have one more repeat on the CPH before I start the shoulder shaping for the sleeves. I sure hope I have enough yarn! I just started my last two balls.

Christine, I know you’re reading, but not typing, so I wanted to say hi! Hope you’re doing well! We miss your posts, but understand! Hope your treatments are helping!

Hi to the rest of those who are too busy to post! Happy knitting!

Thanks for caring Gina! Hi everyone!

The treatments DO appear to be helping. The doctor the physiotherapist brought into my treatment “room” today does not want me on any pain pills. He says they can cause liver damage and/or ulcers and told me not to take them anymore. He says if it gets bad I am to take a Tylenol. He also said to go buy some coarse sea salt and heat it in a fry pan on the stove. Then pour that into a cotton sock and wrap that around my neck. The minerals from the sea salt get into your muscles once the heat of the sock starts to make you sweat. He says that will do far more good than these darned pills. I don’t see it, but I went and got the salt. It is sitting in the car waiting for DH to get home because it is a five lb. bag and I could not lift it out of the car.

The therapists sent me home each day this week, after treatments, with strict instructions to go straight home to bed and stay there, which I am trying hard to do and have done until just now and will return to shortly. The massage therapist today said that my whole upper back is “involved” right now and that she will work hard with me to get back to “normal”. When she got her hands on me today she asked if I had ever had a massage before. When I said no, she started to chuckle. When I asked what was so funny she said, and I quote, “I love to work on virgins!” Then she proceeded to hurt me, and hurt me, and hurt me some more. That being said… my range of motion has gone from 0% on Monday to 25% today, so what they are doing IS working! DH’s company benefits are allowing me 14 more appointments. They have ordered a back support and once I get that I am allowed to knit two rows a day (not at the same time, one in the morning, one in the afternoon) ONLY IF I promise to pack myself with pillows and put my arms on the pillows and don’t raise my arms off those pillows while knitting. At this rate it might be quite a while before I am actually wearing a CPH! I can’t picture having my DH’s socks finished by Christmas Day either. He will have to settle for getting balls of yarn for Christmas in his stocking this year and one 1/4 finished sock! As for the bed jacket… hmmmm now what was I saying? Oh yes, I will wrap up each ball of sock yarn and stick it in his stocking. Once he has opened them all I will show him the 1/4 finished sock. He has seen me lately so he WILL understand.

Speaking of DH, there is nothing more pathetic than this man trying to do housecleaning! My house now looks like WWII hit here, and I don’t give a darn right now.

Back to bed and book I go!

Christine - I wonder if you could fill a sock with the sea salt. Tie the sock off and heat it in the microwave.

Would it melt that way? They don’t want it to melt, just get hot!

Christine glad things are looking up, hope you continue to improve. I dont see why Chris’ idea wouldnt work. Let us know what you tried & how it worked. Talk toyou later. btw I think I’ll pick up some sea salt for when DH is hurting. O & you said your DH can’t do house work…I left today & was gone for almost 6 hours cleaning Grammas house & doing a few errands etc. well I heard Dh tell Bailey they’d make cookies before I left so when I’d been gone for a while, 4 hours or so, I called to see how things were going (again) & he said fine, so I asked if the cookies were gone yet & he said, “what cookies?” Anyway he said “I can’ tmake cookies with these 3, I can’ tkeep up with them.” So I said, let them help. Well when I came home almost 2 hours later he’d just taken the first doz out of the oven & was ready to pull his hair out, which is hard to do because he’s almost bald :rolf: Poor guy is now taking a jacuzzi bath b/c he’s in need of “me time.” Sorry guys, but y’all can’t do much, not with kids like we sahm’s can.

Julie - I sympathise with your dh. I’ve watched my mom and my grandma deal with 2 to 6 small children in the kitchen. I try to help but lack the patience so its better if my contribution is limited to getting things out and putting them away. One calm, cooperative kid is one thing… my screaming cousins should be slapped and sent to time out, not fed cookie dough… and once you get more than three it’s simply impossible to keep track of them all at once. Well… I know I’ve said before that I’m not good with kids.
