I don’t think my camera/scanner could get a clear enough image to show the actual design but I’ll try to explain it to you. It will be knit top-down, but with the sleeves knit seperately. It zips up the front.

The primary color will be a midrange to darker grey (shaela, sholmit, mogit) with either brown (moorit, mogit) or green (pine, ivy, moss) “spangled” in at the cuffs, collar, and hem. That means that the cuffs, collar, and hem are all green or brown and more and more specks of grey will be added in until the color is all grey. The green will reach further down the center of the back.
The neck is high enough to pull up over a cold nose if needed, but can be turned down to catch the breeze on my neck.
There is an extra panel (can’t remember what the official word for this is) in the middle of the back. Along the bottom edge, halfway through the transition from grey to brown/green is a design I haven’t quite decided on yet… I was going to do ice blue nordic stars and then as the design developed I wanted something else because it started to be more inspired by one of the stories I’ve been writing in my head recently, and so the middle of the back will be a wolf in black or dark brown (Moorit) (on the panel) but I want something simpler around the rest of the jacket. Maybe smaller icelandic stars than my original thoughts, and in the same color as the wolf.
If I double knit it, the inside will be white/cream alpaca, maybe alpaca-silk blend. I’m leaning away from this option, though. For one thing, the shetland alone is almost $100, and the alpaca is another $60 or so on top of that.
Emily that sounds like an amazing piece of work. I love all the shades of the yarn. quite fancy trying it out myselfe. Although I am not allowed to buy anymore yarn at the moment. Have promised to use up some of my stash before it takes over the house.

Blahhh you can always tell it’s going to rain, cause the pressure builds in my head…well today I woke up feeling blah with a bad headache…Isaiah woke up feeling blahhh and Roo woke up in the middle of the night feeling blahhh…so it’s a blahh day here :teehee: . Hopefully Isaiah feels better for school tomorrow (they are off today for fair)
I’m thinking of starting a pair of fall socks today…the purse is bigger than what I thought so it’s taking me longer to get finished 
. right now it kinda looks like the back of a shirt for Roo…
Other than that nothing much planned…might work on the kid’s rooms and of course laundry :teehee:

Dustina, the pants are coming along… I’ve done about 19" up the legs. The pattern calls for 21", but Em is shorter than the average 6yo so I think I’ll stop at 20" and do the body from there.
I did check Ravelry for the yarn, but it’s apparently a pretty rare yarn so I wasn’t able to find much on the specific yarn. I did check for boucle ideas. Thanks for the help!
I hope you and yours feel better soon! My girls seem to have inherited my allergies, unfortunately, and all three of us feel pretty crummy when the weather changes.
Hopefully I will get some knitting time in tonight! Tomorrow night I have my moms’ group and then handbell rehearsal, and Thursday night I’m going to see one of my favorite authors, Alexander McCall Smith. I’m so excited about seeing him!

Got lots done yesterday, but none of it was knitting related. I called in a tow truck for the sick car; the car went to the car doctor and is now fixed and waiting for pickup (five phone calls later); the house got cleaned; I got my new organizer purse and organized it; I arranged for a company to fix a part that needs replacing at the trailer before closing (two phone calls later); I arranged for the winterizing to be done at the trailer once we close (another phone call); I phoned the trailer park to let them know that these people would be coming in and authorized them to give the repair people a key (yet another phone call); I did some banking; I made a pot of slow cooker chili for supper; I had a friend come and format DH’s computer and reload the OS; I vacuumed the house and I kept the cat and dog from killing each other.
Today it’s raining and my ears feel… well, it’s that time of year for me! I might get some knitting done today, who knows!

Yesterday I actually did some baking. Haven’t had any success in a long time but my Apple Bread turned out well. First time trying the recipe too. I got apples from the farm last week so must use them up. Would like to make apple pies too.
I am still working on my Lucy bag but I did make a couple of hats for the Any charity hat thread. Posted pics last week.

It will probably be after Christmas when I start my CPH. I have finally found an acrylic yarn that I think will look nice knit up as a CPH (Mary Maxim Starlette Ragg worsted weight yarn, Colour Black Ragg). This yarn is very affordable for me so I have decided it is the one I am going to use. Also, I have been told it washes up like a ‘rag’.
I have everything else ready to go. My sister has offered to buy the yarn for me for Christmas but I am not sure yet if I will ask for that or something else that is much more needed here (bed sheets as we only have one set). I can’t wait to be finished this bed jacket and matching bed socks so that I can start MY CPH!

Well I have my independance back! DH’s car has been fixed and we went tonight to pick it up. I have my car back and can go where I want when I want or need to. I am happy tonight!
No knitting done today, however I can tell you that when I was up at the trailer last weekend I tried on the bed socks I was going to frog. I figured if I had to frog them it would not matter if stitches fell off the needles when I tried them all the way on (I have got the cuff, leg and heel done and was starting on the foot). My sister and I wear the same size. I thought I had made a huge mistake and would have to rip them out, but after trying them on I discovered that they fit me very well and the heel does not look too big. These socks are knit with chunky yarn and I thought the heel looked huge, but once I got the sock on it looks fine! I don’t have to frog the sock after all!!!
Gina- So far, I’ve told everyone that I’m planning on knitting for that they will get something knitted, and they all seem pretty excited, so hopefully they appreciate it!
Oh…I had lots more to say, but I’m afraid I just had a brain fart, so I may post something tomorrow. My camera broke, so even though I’ve got a few projects well on their way, I can’t post any pictures. :pout:
Hello everyone!
Sorry I have been a little absent in the past few days. I have been working and gasp knitting a lot.
Josh’s uncle died Saturday night. Essentially what happened was that the heart they gave him in the transplant was too good for him after years of low blood pressure and it caused a lot of strokes and aneurysms in his brain. They took him off life support Friday night and it took over 24 hours for him to die. It was hard on the family, but everyone is glad that he is now in a better place where he won’t be sick.
Thank you all so much for your good wishes and prayers. It’s not my own sadness that worries me, but his wife and daughter’s. The funeral is saturday and I changed my work schedule to go.
Bobbi- Hope you get all that knitting done. I find knitting with a deadline stressful!
Christine- Glad you got your car back. You definitely needed it.

Okay, so now for what I’ve been knitting. I started this yesterday and finished it this morning. It probably took about 8 hours start to finish and I LOVE it! We have very similar hats at work and I scoffed at them and said “I can make a BETTER one than that!”. So here is my Spring Beret (Please excuse the self taken photos, I was home alone!). It’s hard to see the pattern due to the black yarn, but check out the photos on Ravelry and it’s a really pretty leaf pattern.

Knitgal, I am so sorry to hear about your loss, we just went through that last year with my hubbies mom. She passed from cancer that matasticized into her brain and spinal chord.
In other news, WOOHOOO!!!:woot: I finally got it done, 420 yards of fingering weight, sock yarn yumminess!!! I promise pics coming tomorrow, gotta wait for the sun to come out n all that stuff ya know. Also gonna post pics of my mom’s shawl WIP and some of my handspun goodies. I posted a new pattern on my blog for top down mittens using the sherman sock method for the tip will post pics on there as well.
I’ve got some yummy fiber on the way too, some merino silk blend, some alpaca merino blend and some straight up merino, yummmmmm!!! More sock yarn is on it’s way. Then maybe I’ll actually start knitting some actual socks:whistle:
Right now on the spindle I’ve got some luscious tussah silk and on the wheel making some fat yarn for that cute little pattern for a bunting for our newest grand. I found the pattern for that in a new knitting mag called, “Fons & Porter’s Love of Knitting”:knitting:

Carrey that’s gonna be fun knitting with that. I’ve never knit with that kind of yarn before, the closest was the homespun or whatever from Lion Brand-didn’t like that much, but it sure made a nice soft blanket.
Yesterday morning I got some homework read & so yesterday afternoon during nap time I knit a wine cozy for my Aunt that’s intown through Monday, hopefully it iwll be dry today & I’ll take it to her this afternoon, it’s the felted wine bottle cozy from knitty. I used patons merino in blue for the base & about 15 rows up & then added in some fun fur I had on hand to make it purdy. Here’s a photo of that…

Morning everyone! I was away last week with DH at our drag racing divisional finals in Reading, PA. We had a fun time, but it rained for most of it. The race was suppose to be on Saturday, but we didn’t run until late Sunday and finished up Monday. DH went 2 rounds (he was disappointed he didn’t go farther) but the car ran the best/fastest it has all year. I did knit on the way down and back, but there was too much rain and mud during the day that I didn’t want to chance getting everything dirty. I’m working on 2 of the Northeast Oddball baby blankets.
