Any Sock KAL 2

Lissie, Great job great looking socks

Jess_Hawk, I would love to have your teddy bear pattern, also. My wife collects bears and It fun to give her a hand made unique bear.

Here is a shot of one of my Sockamania socks. it is a really bad picture because I had to use my mobile. My daughter is doing the modelling.

Lisa~ :teehee: I always get them after the race…they become my night shirts as he gets XLgs

Lissie~:inlove: very pretty!! So good to see you posting

Julie~Those are so cute…I went to the site and love the angel charm they have too…I’m still alive and haven’t heard from the person with my name…I hope she is knititng for me :teehee:…My person knows hers is coming so she was sending hers off…that means I would get her target’s target…unless they are already gone too…I just wanted to finish the first pair without being eliminated

Knitgal~

jess_hawk~I’d also like to have the pattern…Sorry to hear about your friend’s aunt…and you have to eat!

Chris~What type of bears does she collect? I have several (a lot) of boyds around here…:oo:

Karina~:woohoo: it looks great!!

:passedout: still no knitting for me today…I did clean some and had about 3 rounds with Roo…she is getting very sassy for 4 :wall: …hopefully tomorrow will be smoother :teehee:

She collect interesting bears not necessarily a brand. Now we do have a problem in that we live about 45 minutes south west of Gettysburg. Gettysburg has a Boyd’s Bear Barn (BBB). Over the winter the BBB was closed a remodeled. In the remodeling they split the space between Boyd’s Bears and Longaberger. She collects both.

Jess, your time in Australia sounds amazing, even if you can’t do everything you want. Are you familiar with Sticks and String podcast with David Reidy. He’s in Australia and does a GREAT knitting podcast.

Lissie, I LOVE those socks. Such pretty colors!

My sister had her baby today!!! Eva Maria, 9 lb. 7 oz, 22 1/2" long!

Dustina, I’m still working on GG. I think I went too far before taking the sleeves off, so I think I’ll frog back half a dozen rows or so. :wall:

Hi to the rest of you!:waving: Happy knitting!

Catsup and the bear I made for Josh were made with the pattern for Scruffy from KPC (though it should be noted that I think their body design is too small and the whole pattern has a couple of minor errors). My own design is still in the works - I have to fix the head design some but then I promise to post it! Lockie and Aaron both want bears so I have plenty of practice.
I forgot to photograph Josh’s bear tho (And delivered it to him while he was still in bed, and he’s not up yet) so I’ll get pictures of him later. I did the Om symbol on his back as Josh is Buddhist.
I hadn’t heard of that podcast, Gina, but I’ll be sure to look into it. Maybe not from here (stupid dl restrictions kicks dl restrictions) but from home at least. Congrats on your new neice! Eva is a beautiful name, I’m sure the baby is as lovely.
Dustina - I agree, eating is necessary, dangit. If only I could go a month on nothing but the weekly free sausages… lol.
I did my presentation today and got an HD- (HD for High Distinction, transfers home as an A+!). YAY!!!
lissie and Karina - love the socks!!!

:woot: congrats Jess!!!

welcome Eva! Congrats Gina :happydance: thats a big baby 9.7#:thud:
Caitlin was my biggest @ 5#15oz

Dustina did you know who has you? Tweety the Terrible…look under the members only for the pdf file, I think your on page 3 or 4 & I’m on page 5 or 6 I think…my killer is Jezebel

Mornin to all those on the other side-16 days Jackie!

Night all in N.America:sleepy:

Jess, read his notes online if you can’t download the podcast. Contact him, too. He’s the kind of bloke who’d love it! He’s a teacher, so supports the whole education thing you’re after. AND Congratulations on your grade! Smartypants! We’re proud of you!

Thanks for the congrats on Eva. I emailed my sister that she must be sore after giving birth to a toddler!:roflhard:

Congratulation Gina on becoming an aunt to Eva and I agree with jess_hawk Eva is a beautifull name for a beautifull baby, and well done to your sister for giving birth naturally, I had c-sections with all 3 of my big babies.

jess_hawk well done on your grade, bet you parents are really proud of you. When you post your pattern make sure to let us know so we can all get a copy, I got a 2 year old that loves anything soft and cuddly.

No problem. I did have rats, but had to give them away because of allergy.

Knitgal, I’m praying for your grandma. Hopefully she will be fine again and find the will to live the rest of her life. Alzheimer is a terrible disease.

Gina, it’s hard to explain how to pronounce my name, since the dutch phonemes are different from the enlish ones. I’ve found a really crazy website which makes name-ringtones for your own name: http://www.naamringtone.net/ . You can enter any name and it gives you some ringtones. You can preview the ringtones, the last one (sms ringtone) is the best way to hear my name pronounced correctly (and easier than explaining).

Dustina, that’s a really pretty top. Are those flowers crocheted?

Lissie, your monkeys look great.

Karina, your sockamaniasock looks great. I tried to start it, but it tuned out to small and I had to frog it. After that I didn’t feel like knitting it again (didn’t like knitting all those small cables) so I decided not to knit this sock. Hopefully I like next month’s sock better.

My socks are doing great. I’m already working on the heelflap, which is really fast for me. I think I really needed the mindless knit.

I just tried that ringtone, that is so funny how they can do that. My daughter would just love her name as a ringtone.
and now I know how to pronounce your name. I am sorry your Sockamania socks did not work out, but glad your other ones are going well.

Oh Well tried my daughters name (Kamilia) and it is not on there.

:sun: Good Morning Socksters!

Chris~I was into boyds big time…on the official boyds forum all that stuff…I’m sad to hear that the company that makes Cherished Teddies is now going to be making the boyds…I always liked the thought of Gary having his hand still in the designs…I don’t know how much longer BBC will be open…Pigeon Forge has already closed about a year ago…

Gina~aww how cute!! I love the name…Isaiah was 10lbs 10 oz…everyone kept coming to my room to “see the little gal who had the big baby”…Roo was almost 9lbs when they took her 2wks early…I’m sorry you gotta rip back some on the GG…

jess_hawk~:yay: YAY on the grade!!

Julie~Yeah, I even looked up who had her and who had her…and I think 4back is marked dead…maybe 3 back…I haven’t heard anything from her

Lieke~I’m not sure…on ravelry no one says if they are crochet or not…I know some on ravelry are leaving the flowers off

Karina~Kamillia is so pretty!

Hi everyone! :happydance:

We got an e-mail this morning that Whitlee was spayed on Tuesday, has put on a lot of weight, her coat is shiny again, and she will be ready to come here next weekend :happydance:

It’s gloomy, rainy, icky here today so maybe I’ll get some knitting done…the house is ready to go but of course for clothes…Roo and I are going to bedazzle somethings first though…and then I might drag out the ol’ civil war shawl for a bit :teehee:

I hope you all have a great day of knitting :sun:

ETA: My mom’s friend (Linda) finally heard something yesterday and it was that the cells came back abnormal but they now want to do another test on Monday. They will go thru the side into the lung with a needle and take better samples of the mass. They told her that if it’s not lung cancer the insurance will not pay for the radiation that is needed to shrink the mass…if the mass is not taking care of she will suffocate…what??? gah :wall:…thank you for your prayers and please continue to keep her there

Lieke I’d say from that audio that your name is pronounced Lee-ka, right? very pretty. Does it have special meaning?

Dustina I searched for my assasign on the directory and can’t find her anywhere? karen robinson aka jezebel  btw OUCH you have big babies did you go natural on both? I forgot about whitlee, betchy’all can’t wait! :happydance:

ok so we made cookies yesterday afternoon, oatmeal chocolate chip and I probably almost ate my weight in them…Dh said he had to go brush his teeth so he wouldn’t eat anymore. So today I guess I need to get onto the SW socks-not real wild about the pattern, easy-but for some reason I just don’t care for it that much. I also have have errands to run today so I’ll check in later.

No, it’s a dutch website, so I guess only common dutch names are in there (Kamilia isn’t a common dutch name)

Dustina, I’d make the flowers, they make the top really pretty and really special.

Julie, I guess Lee-ka is really close. The name comes from Angela, which means Angel.

Lieke, I grew up hearing Dutch since my grandparents and parents spoke it all the time. Well, one set of grandparents spoke Friesian and the other set of grandparents spoke Dutch. My parents mostly spoke Dutch when they didn’t want us to understand, so I got fairly proficient at understanding, but not so good at speaking it. I didn’t want them to know I could understand them!!!:roflhard:

Dustina, you gave birth to full-grown CHILDREN!!! OUCH!
We’ll keep Linda in our .

DS needs computer again…

Julie~I think that’s why I haven’t knitted since I finished them…the pattern is ok but fighting the directions bummed me out…and I really dread having to knit more of it so kinda hoping my person hit me soon with socks  …I did with Isaiah and had some complications so with Roo she was a c-section…

We are soo excited for Whitlee…I think the kids are thinking it will just never happen lol…but today I could say next Sat we are bringing her home…so they are happy…esp Roo she is more of the dog person and Isaiah is a cat more of a cat lover…she has a blanket that she has to sleep with (the dog well Roo does too) :roflhard:

Lieke~I have a pretty wine color that I bought last year from Elann.com so I’m going to go there find a flower color and then the pattern…I was thinking a natural color but mom said pink…so will prolly order a natural and pink…just in case the pink doesn’t match…

Chris~I forgot to tell you that I live very very close to Longaber Homestead :teehee:

Gina~ whenever someone in the family has a baby that is “normal” I’m afraid to hold them…I never had a baby in newborn clothes

Thank you for the prayers…She went down today to get everything lined up for next week and found out they can’t do it…the mass is to close to the aorta?sp…so now she will go back on Tues be filled with some kind of dye…ran through something a PET? I think to see if there is cancer anywhere else…and they will have to do surgery…the dr didn’t want to open her up cause the way it is with the heart or fear of spreading…but they are running out of choices…although he told her that if it does surrond the aorta they won’t be able to do anything…so he told her to pray that a) the dye test shows no more cancer and b) that it’s not attached to the aorta…:help:

Well I took my civil war shawl out today…did 2 rnds took me an hour and half (off and on) I have 40 more rows to go…do I have 40 hrs??? :wall:

We seem to make it out to the homestead about once a year, however, we have never made it to the Orvis (flyfishing) store. At least the next time we show I will be easy to spot. I’m the guy in the skirt, sitting in the sun knitting. Next time we make it out you will have to give me a list of LYSs.

Bailey wore preemie clothes for 2 months! & at her 2 mo check up she weighed 7# 4oz:teehee:

Dustina- for your friend Linda. A PET scan is a total body scan that will show if there is any cancer anywhere in her body. I hope and pray that all goes well for her.

Have a good night everyone! :knitting:
