You are so right Julie . There is always a head somewhere that will fit it lol:)
I have been knitting hats for soldiers (specifically helmet liners) for a few years and this year I would like to knit simple hats or touques for navy officers.
Does anyone know of any organizations that services the Navy within Canada or the US; or if they have a contact that they can connect me with. The hats Iāve knit so far are a simple k2, p2 ribbed hat in navy blue.
As with any work done for the troops, this is not a political campaign so regardless of how we may feel about the war, itās about helping out the men and women who are out there and risking their lives.
I would hate to think that only the soldiers are getting hats and the seamen are being left out!:knitting:
Hi st.tropez,
What a wonderful thing to d by knitting helmet liners . I am sure that men who recieved them, appreciated them.
I am a UK resident and i am not sure about organizations within Canada or the US that service the Navy.
I will try and see what i can find on the internet but in the mean time maybe someone from the US or Canada will be able to provide us with the information.
I would also suggest you post this question in the Questions section of the forum so more people will see it .
Thanks Rita, I appreciate your help and will follow your suggestion about posting in the general section.
I also replied to your post in General Knitting. I thought Iād reply here too.
Thank you McKnitty for the Link
