Years ago (we are talking eons) I knit myself a couple of sweaters which fit. I never gave it a thought. I found a pattern and knit it up. I was a very very beginning novice knitter (redundant I know). I just liked the sweater and did it. Some years later, I took a knitting class and the lady who gave the class helped me “design” a pullover vest. I say “design” becuase it was just a simple v-neck, sleeveless, waist length knitted in the round vest.
Now I am scared to death to start something. How do I know it will fit. I was thinking of a cardigan, jacket sort of thing in a washable yarn.
If I take measurements, then how much bigger do I make the sweater? :??
Yes, I would make a swatch bigger than 4 inches, that seems to be the usual size. I did find a tunic top and realize I have another top that buttons down the front. If I make a jacket type, I would need something a bit larger to fit over other clothing. I have to get this right in my mind first.
Thanks for the tips. Otherwise I might go blindly and blissfully on and have a mess.
