Am I reading this sleeve direction right?

I am about to knit the sleeves of my sweater. The directions say to cast on 44 sts, then after knitting the cuffs, to switch to size 6 needles and to inc 1 st at the end of the next row and every foll row to 72 sts. I wrote out the rows so I wouldn’t get lost along the way, and came up with 233 rows! Can this be right? Do sleeves really have that many rows or I am misunderstanding this totally?

Oops…I meant that I am supposed to increase 1 at the end of the first row and every foll 8th row to 72 sts!

I suspect it’s supposed to be increasing 1 stitch at each end of every increase row. Could you double check your pattern to see if it says that??

If that’s the case, increasing at both ends of the increase rows, it would take 14 increase rows to go from 44sts to 72sts. Increase on rows 1, 9, 17, 25, 33, 41, 49, 57, 65, 73, 81, 89, 97, and 105.

Yes! It says inc 1 st at each end of next row and every foll 8th row… so it is both ends every 8th row. I am so happy that I won’t be knitting gorilla sleeves! As usual, knitqueen… :muah:
