Alternative cotton yarn

Hi folks,

I’m afraid I know next to nothing about this topic. I have an elderly neighbour who enjoys making cotton dishclothes and has been doing so longer than I’ve been alive.

Recently she’s not been able to find the type of cotton she’s been using, and I did manage to get her some on ebay, but now it’s unavailable. She has been using white Wendy’s Dishcloth 100% Natural Cotton. The ebay item is now showing another product, so have attached an image below of the original in case it helps. I have been able to find it one roll available (Wendy Craft Cotton Knitting Yarn - 100g Ball | Outback Yarns) but that wont last her long.

She has tried a couple of alternative 100% cotton yarns but the are thinner yarn and not as white. I guess she likes what she’s been using for a while.

Could anyone suggest an alternative that might be more readily available? Or if you know where I might get her some of the Wendy’s Dishcloth stuff that would be great.

Thank you!

My go to cotton yarn when I made wash cloths was Rico Creative Cotton. They do Aran and double knit in all sorts of colours, cheap although each ball is 50g/115 metres. I know that’s still available even though the first time I used it was a few years ago (4 or 5, I mean. So many yarns get discontinued so soon!)

i use lily-sugar and cream cotton yarn
