A question for the experienced knitters in the group…
I’m working a k2p2 hat in the round, and it’s time to start shaping the crown. What is the best way to decrease the ribbing to make it look nice?
The way that I see it, either 1) each of the “ribs” could get smaller, or 2) I could have every other knit rib “bend over” the purl stitches and merge into a neighboring knit rib.
Well, I sort of made it up as I went along, but I’m very pleased with the results. Alternating “knit” ribs bend to the right across the “purl” ribs and join their neighboring knit rib. Hopefully, this will become apparent in the pictures below.
