Adding interest?

Hello all, I’ve knit this pattern three times now and I’d like to try it again for summer with a little added interest to the yoke, for example a couple of eyelet rows. I’m looking for a good explanation (preferably video) on how to do this. Any ideas appreciated!

That’s a very nice pattern and it can be adapted to other stitch patterns. What about trying a new pattern or considering the stitch pattern used here for example:

Thanks!! I was looking around at new patterns, got completely overwhelmed, and decided to go with the one I know. But … I really like both of these and I think I’ll pick one and learn something new! I’ve got a DK weight yarn that I was hoping to use … and I don’t usually stray so far from the recommended yarn weight. Any thoughts on that? I’m not so confident in my ability to make that decision…

The patterns I linked to call for fingering weight yarn but knit at a looser gauge. 20sts/4inches in one case and 18sts/4inches in the other. It’s worth knitting a swatch with your yarn to see if you can get the pattern gauge called for and whether you like the knit fabric (not too loose and lacey). Always fun to check the yarn ideas from the Ravelry page to see yarn suggestions and projects, too.
It’s a good idea to stay on or very close to the recommended stitch gauge and in most cases, the yarn weight. A swatch is going to give you lots of information and save you time with this.

Maybe you’d like one of these?

It’s easy to get overwhelmed by patterns, I am all the time! I hope you find one you like.
