? about shaping thumb on mitten

Here are is the pattern up to where I have the ??? so you know where I am:

With smaller needles cast on 26 sts. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 2", inc 1 st on last row - 27 sts. Change to larger needles and St st begin K row, and work 2 rows.
Shape Thumb Gusset: K14, place marker, [inc in next st] twice, place marker, K to end - 29 sts. P 1 row. Next Row K to marker, inc, K to 1 st before marker, inc, K to end. P 1 row. Rep last 2 rows until there are 33 sts
Divide for Thumb K22; turn; put 11 sts on first holder. Cast on 1 st; P9; turn; put 14 sts on 2nd holder. Cast on 1 st; K10. Work 5 rows even.

My question is the part in red. After I turn, which needle do I take the stitches from to put on the holder, the left (which now has my working yarn attached to it since I just turned) or the right (which was the needle I was knitting from before I turned)? TIA!

Eh, nevermind. I figured it out. Now I just have to work on getting the gaps out from in between the stitches while I have the stitches on holders…
