? about gauge

HI!! I would like to make the sweater in Sally Melville’s Purl Book, The Raglan Body-Hugger. The yarn should be a light-weight yarn, and I have some Boku yarn, from Plymouth Yarn. It’s gauge is 4 sts=1" on 7’s. That is not a VERY LIGHT WEIGHT YARN IS IT?? yOU ARE SUPPOSED TO USE 6’S FOR THE SWEATER, ANd I used some 6’s, with this yarn, and my width came out a whole inch wider. Do you think I should try a 4 or a 5?? I have to go buy some, I don’t have any needles that small.

TIA,
Lori

The yarn is probably too thick. If you wen down to a 4, it may knit up too stiff. You could also just use the 6s but make a smaller size.
