Hi…boy do I need some assistance. I sure hope someone here can decipher it for me. I’ve been working on a pair of baby booties. This pattern now has me stumped.
Cast on 41 sts. K 4 rows.
Commence lace patt.
1st row K1, *K1, ytf, K2 tog, rep from * to last st, K1.
2nd row P1, *P1, yrn, P2 tog, rep from * to last st, P1.
Rep 1st and 2nd rows 5 times more, then 1st row once, K1 row.
Eyelet row
Next row K5, *ytf, K2 tog, K4, rep from * to end.
K1 row.
Rep 1st and 2nd patt rows once.
Divide for Instep
1st row K16, *K1 ytf, K2 tog, rep from * twice, K1, turn.
Work 16 rows more in patt on center 11sts.
Next row P2 tog, P7, P2 tog.
Break yarn.
With RS facing, attach yarn at beg of instep, pick up and K 15sts along side of instep, K 9 sts from center front, pick up and K 15sts along other side of instep, K 15sts from needle. K1 row across all sts (69sts). P1 row.
K1 row.
Rep last 3 rows twice more.
K2 rows.
Shape sole
As given for slipper socks.
Finishing
Sew sole and back seam and thread ribbon through eyelet row.
Okay…now where I’m having trouble is the dividing for the instep. (I put it in bold and italics.) I have the first row done in that section, but I’m lost as to what to do after that point. And then…what pattern do I use for the center 11 sts?? The one they just gave me or the initial lace pattern? BAH! I’ve been away from knitting too long!!
And these old patterns sometimes really confuse me! I hope I was clear as to what kind of help I need. Any and all details would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
