Hello.,
I’ve been knitting aprox 15 yrs, i’m self taught and consider myself to be a enthusiastic advanced beginner level knitter. I’ve never made a sweater. I 'd really love to try. Can anyone advise me of a easy to read and follow pattern to start with?
I’ll be watching for the responses to this one. I’m ready to try my first sweater now too.

Its a personal thing & skills vary greatly with each person but probably the easiest options are those with minimal shaping, drop sleeves or raglan. (Set in sleeves can be a pain to sew in.)
A few ideas.
Drop sleeve

Raglan
many folk would recommend the top down raglan. One here.

Most of these are good starting projects. http://www.dailyknitter.com/exclusive.html
Many popular pattern sites have the patterns listed with skill level. from beginner to advanced.
